The Scottish Borders – where the sheer variety of crafts, skills and produce on offer is overwhelming: quality textiles such as tweed and tartan; luxuriant knitwear including the softest of cashmere; woodwork; glassware, pottery and jewellery featuring silver, bronze and exquisite gem stones.

Crafts

There are still independent artists and craftsmen working in wool in the Borders - spinners, weavers, knitwear designers and tapestry makers - but they have also been joined by workers in other crafts, potters, glass makers, workers in stone and wood and many more, who are more than willing to welcome the visitor into their workshop and demonstrate their skills.  Many sell direct to the public and are also open to visitors. A visit to the Borders will allow you to enjoy the beautiful scenery of rolling hills, meandering rivers and romantic landscapes, which provide a source of inspiration to the artists more...
