There are still independent artists and craftsmen working in wool in the Borders - spinners, weavers, knitwear designers and tapestry makers - but they have also been joined by workers in other crafts, potters, glass makers, workers in stone and wood and many more, who are more than willing to welcome the visitor into their workshop and demonstrate their skills. Many sell direct to the public and are also open to visitors.
