Linking Paths
Southern Upland Way (Portpatrick to Cockburnspath) crosses Chain Bridge, within 400m of Abbey.
Local paths include Eildon Hill Walk, Tweed Walk, path to Abbotsford (The Borders Abbeys Way, which passes through Melrose on its way to Kelso).
The E2 European long-distance footpath uses the northern section of the Pennine Way, St Cuthbert's Way to Melrose then the Southern Upland Way to Stranraer. No separate literature currently available.
