Club Champion's Tip: Lauder golf course is one of the few remaining truly unspoiled heathland courses in the country, with superb views and great greens. Our course is a must for golfers of any ability.

The Course
The course was initially laid out by Willie Park Jnr. who was Open Champion in 1887 and 1889. He also set the professional record, which still stands, of 70 1905. The course lies on a gently sloping hillside. The second fairway is steeper, but, from the top, there are beautiful views of Lauderdale. The 'signature holes' are 'The Wood', a dog-leg par 4, and 'The Quarry' a blind par 3 of 150 yards. Over the last 4 years the club has carried out a development programme of installation of water on the greens and an extensive drainage system in order to extend the playing season. A pond is a new feature two-thirds of the way along the first fairway. visitors can choose to play off the yellow of the white tees, the latter providing different driving areas on the second nine.

How to get to the Course
In the town centre, on the A68, look out for the Black Bull. The road forks there, past the Post Office. Take this forked road and turn almost immediately into Mill Wynd. Follow this road out of the town and you will see the Golf Course sign on the right. If you are arriving from the A7, you can take the Lauder turn-off at Stow. When you reach the A68 at Lauder turn right and take the right fork mentioned above.
