Although salmon and trout fishing predominates in the Tweed catchment, there are also many other fish to attract fishermen, such as perch, grayling, pike and roach. Although there is no closed season for coarse fishing in Scotland, some areas of the Tweed are forbidden to coarse anglers at certain times to protect salmon and trout stocks.
